Top 4 Things To Do With Your Dog in Vancouver in summer 2017
Humans and dogs alike love summer as it’s a great time for them to: get tanned, meet potential partners and eat cookies that have been left over on the beach.
However this summer in Vancouver, why not make it extra special for you and your doggy, and attend some super fun activities like…
1. Dog Days of Summer – Attend a baseball game with your dog this summer in Vancouver on July 13th, 7:05pm, at Nat Bailey Stadium
Dogs like hotdogs. Humans like hotdogs. So it makes absolute sense for you and your dog to attend a baseball game where they serve four-foot long hot dogs. And now you can, thanks to the folks at Petcurean and the Vancouver Canadians Baseball club.
On July 13th visit Dog Days of Summer where you can watch a baseball game with your dog, enjoy tons of free dog treats, and take tons of selfies (#nofilter) of you watching a baseball game with a dog.
Stay tuned to the Vancouver Canadians website for ticket sales once they are released.
2. Weiner Dog Racing – Watch Daschunds race in Vancouver this summer on July 15th and 16th at the Hastings Race Track
Weiner dog racing is awesome. You and your dog can watch Daschunds racing, getting lost, and generally not caring about racing at all from the comfort of your bench.
The races presented by Hastings Racecourse and Schneiders, had a total of $2,500 in the overall prize pool last year with the champion receiving $1,000 and a first-place canine trophy.
Stay tuned to the Hastings Racecourse schedules for more news about timing of the event as it’s released.
3. Pet-a-palooza – Join the Westcoast’s largest pet festival on August 27th, 11-4pm, on 1100 Mainland St. Yaletown, Vancouver
Pet-A-Palooza in Vancouver is amazing.
Last year we spotted one of our fave Canadian’s, Seth Rogen, casually walking through the festival (without a dog) while politely posing for pics.
Then when we walked through the festival (with our dog) we were showered with TONS of free stuff like treats, food, and information about fun and quirky accessories. We were even offered a free session at a Yaletown gym!
Entry is free. All you need to bring is a good attitude, some poop bags and a sense of hope that you will see Seth Rogen.
4. Shipyards Night Market – Enjoy live music, food, and products on Friday Nights, 5-10pm, from May 5 - September 29, 2017 at Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver.
Do you ever feel frustrated when you want to eat super cool food but your dog can’t join? Now you (and your dog) can eat to your hearts’ content at the Shipyards Night Market. Choose from at least 35 food trucks, and check out 100+ vendors.
Entry is free. Just bring your dog and an empty stomach. And again, you can look out for Seth Rogen.
